Why do many scholars prefer using the Silver Nisab over Gold Nisab when calculating Zakah eligibility today?
Explanation
Silver Nisab (~$500-600) is much lower than Gold Nisab (~$5,500-6,000). Using Silver Nisab means more people meet the threshold and pay Zakah, which increases distribution to the poor. Many scholars prefer this for greater social benefit.
